How to dry wood
Solar kiln drying
A method that uses a solar kiln to dry wood quickly and safely. Solar kilns protect the wood from the elements and can dry wood to the moisture level needed for interior use.
Air drying
A traditional method that involves stacking wood in an open-air environment until it reaches the desired moisture content. This method can take a long time and the wood may not be as dry as wood that has been kiln-dried. To speed up the process, you can store the wood in a sunny and windy location, or cover it with a tarp to protect it from rain.
Kiln drying
A method that involves forcing the wood to dry in a kiln, which is the most common and efficient to dry wood in scale.
